What’s the difference between removing and deleting a user?

After removing a User from their Team you can still find them under the “Users without Team” list. Information they own will remain in their account / visibility and they will still be able to log in. 

If you delete a user, all records owned by this user will remain in MMC, however, this user will no longer be able to log in, and will not count towards your total number of user licenses.

Tip: If you are not using a CRM integration or another system of record that talks to MMC - it is recommended to transfer record ownership to another user before user deletion if possible for easiest data transfer
